Since its initial conception in 2012 and the introduction of the first models in 2015, this wheel has gone through several generations—each with improvements in aerodynamics, weight, stiffness, and ride comfort. Now in its fifth generation, the Wake 6560 Evolution sets a new standard in performance and design.
What makes the Wake 6560 Evolution unique is its combination of speed, agility, and stiffness. Thanks to the updated Evolution profile, this wheel is more aerodynamically efficient than ever, even in challenging wind conditions. Where deeper rims often sacrifice stability, this model maintains tight and reliable steering while remaining lighter and more responsive than shallower alternatives.
The Evolution version introduces a revolutionary rim shape with alternating deep and shallow rim sections, combined with the patented Radially Staggered Lacing. This optimally distributes spoke forces, resulting in a stiffer and more durable wheelset. This technology is exclusive to Princeton CarbonWorks and underscores the company's progressive approach to wheel building.
The new Wake 6560 Evolution is slightly wider and lighter than its predecessor. With an internal width of 21mm and a maximum external width of 28.2mm, the wheelset is perfectly matched to modern 25-28mm tires. This ensures better aerodynamics in all conditions and greater stability in crosswinds. Furthermore, the rim weight has been reduced by 10 grams per rim, contributing to a more lively ride.
Whether you choose tubeless or traditional clincher tires, the Wake 6560 Evolution is fully prepared. Thanks to the hook-and-loop mounting system and the holeless tubeless-ready design, installation is simple and secure, without the need for rim tape. Furthermore, the rim remains available for both disc and rim brakes, allowing every rider to choose their ideal setup.
