About our Privacy Policy

The Bike Broker B.V. values your privacy. We only process personal data that is necessary for the performance and improvement of our services. We handle the information we receive from you with care and never provide your data to third parties for commercial purposes.

This privacy policy applies to the use of The Bike Broker B.V.'s website and services. The effective date of this policy is 25/03/2026. Upon publication of a new version, previous versions expire.

In this privacy policy, we explain what data we collect, why we use it, with whom we share it, and how we secure your data. We also inform you about your rights.

Data Processing

Webshop software – Shopify

Our webshop is built with Shopify. Personal data you provide to us is processed through Shopify. Shopify uses this data solely to provide technical support and is contractually obliged to take appropriate security measures, such as SSL encryption.

Shopify may collect technical data about the use of the webshop (no directly identifiable personal data). Data may be processed outside the EU, including in the United States.


Email Marketing – Klaviyo

For email communication and newsletters, we use Klaviyo. Klaviyo processes your name and email address solely on our behalf. You can easily unsubscribe in every email via the unsubscribe link.

Klaviyo uses technologies to gain insight into the use of emails (such as opens and clicks), with the aim of improving our communication.


Business Email – Google Workspace (Gmail)

For our regular email traffic, we use Google Workspace. This party has taken appropriate security measures. We treat all communication confidentially.


Payments – Mollie

For processing payments, we use Mollie. Mollie processes your name, address, and payment details (such as bank account or credit card details). Mollie complies with strict security requirements and uses your data solely for handling payments.


Shipping and Logistics

Whenever possible and/or agreed, we deliver our bikes ourselves. Sometimes, for shipping orders, we use carriers such as DPD, DHL, Dachser and/or other logistics partners. For this, we share your name, address, and place of residence details.

This data is used solely for the purpose of carrying out the delivery. If necessary, these parties may engage subcontractors.


Invoicing and Accounting

For our administration, we use accounting software (such as Exact Online or similar). We share necessary data such as name, address, and order details for processing invoices and administration.

These parties are contractually obliged to treat your data confidentially.


Purpose of Data Processing

General

We use your data solely for:

  • Processing and delivering orders
  • Customer service and communication
  • Administration and invoicing
  • Improving our website and services

We do not use your data for marketing without your consent.


Automatically collected data

Our website automatically collects data such as IP address, browser, and device. This data is used for analysis and optimization and is not directly traceable to an individual.


Legal Obligations

In exceptional cases, we may be obliged to share personal data with government authorities, for example, in case of a legal obligation in the context of tax or criminal investigations.


Retention Periods

We retain your data for as long as necessary for our services. Invoice data is retained in accordance with legal obligations (usually 7 years). After this period, data is deleted or anonymized.

  • Erasure: you may request data to be deleted
  • Restriction: you may restrict processing
  • Data portability: you may have data transferred
  • Objection: you may object to processing

Requests can be submitted via our contact details. We will respond within 30 days.

Additionally, you have the right to file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority.

We use Google Analytics to gain insight into the use of our website. This data helps us optimize the website and improve the user experience. Google may process this data according to its own privacy policy.

We reserve the right to amend this privacy policy. The most current version will always be available on this page. In case of significant changes, we will inform you by email if necessary.
