Are you a true “off-roader” and love to hit the woods? Then an S-Works Epic is definitely one of the top choices in the Netherlands. The Epic model is available in both Full Suspension and Hardtail variants. The S-Works Epic comes in multiple types and variants. Below, we highlight the two different "types" of Epic.

S-Works Epic Full Suspension

With the Full Suspension, the extra shock absorber with Brain Technology gives you more grip and therefore a more confident feeling while riding. A definite additional advantage is that the shock absorber provides much more comfort. The Full Suspension also has an advantage on rougher surfaces; because the extra rear shock absorber can absorb many shocks, you can ride much faster in woods with many roots, stones, and potholes. This often makes the decisive difference for enthusiastic riders.

Advantages of an S-Works Full Suspension bike:

• The Brain suspension manages the bike's suspension. The Brain suspension adapts faster between hard and soft than human reaction, without the need to operate buttons or levers. This way, the suspension is automatically in the correct position for every type of terrain;
• On uneven trails, you can cycle faster with a full suspension. Take braking bumps, for example: you'll roll right over them. Drops are also easily absorbed;
• Enjoy a high degree of comfort because shocks are absorbed better. This gives you more confidence and a higher top speed on the bike;
• The fully is easier to control because it bounces less compared to a Hardtail;
• The bike reacts more predictably to obstacles and brakes more powerfully because the tires almost always stay on the ground;
• You have more grip on the ground. This is due to the rear shock, which compresses slightly, effectively pressing the rear tire into the ground;
• An S-Works Epic Full Suspension is one of the lightest and stiffest race full-suspension bikes in the world;
• An Epic is almost always assembled with a Sram XX1 drivetrain. This groupset is tougher, quieter, lighter, more durable, and shifts with super precision. It's available in both mechanical and electronic (AXS) variants. Newer models also feature a Quark power meter, allowing you to measure power at the pedals and adjust your training accordingly;
• The bike is equipped with Sram Ultimate disc brakes for balanced power and modulation.

S-Works Epic Hardtail

The Specialized S-Works Epic Hardtail, as the name suggests, has a "hard tail" and therefore only has a suspension fork with Brain Technology. The Brain is a self-functioning system where a lockout is no longer necessary. This is one of the absolute spearheads and characteristics of the Specialized S-Works brand. 

Advantages of the Specialized S-Works Epic Hardtail:

• The FACT 12m carbon S-Works Epic Hardtail frame is very strong and incredibly light. We don't just say that: it is the lightest production hardtail frame ever produced;
• The RockShox SID BRAIN fork combines 100 millimeters of the most efficient travel on earth with RockShox's sleek yet stiff SID chassis. The pinnacle of XC race suspension perfection;
• A Hardtail is very agile;
• The price tag is lower compared to a Full Suspension;
• On hard surfaces, this is a true racing monster;
